Corley, Anna and Cristina
Yesterday was our associate/intern Anna Aaron's birthday. She, Corley and Cristina came over for dinner.
We are blessed to get to work with the young staff members here on our team. They are the best!!!!!

With those three I can't believe you don't have guys falling off the rafters to be a part of your ministry.
"Guys" is gender specific, not generic.
Marty, I already volunteered to start a church in Pittsburgh.
This is all part of our devious "strategery".
We are trying to lure young Seminarians up to the frozen NE. : )

That's one thing we miss about OK. Doug was in the Pride at OU, and got to go to both the Orange and Citrus bowls. He has gone back a couple of times to march with the alumni band.
His family has season tickets. We miss getting to go to Owen field.
I like living in a city with a pro team, but the NFL doesn't quite have the same magic that college football does. The 2000 National Championship was still the best.
BTW--did you know Heather Hill at SWOSU? She married Gary (?) who is a youth minister now, but I believe they were pretty active in BCM.
Heather's parents worked with us at Oklahoma Baptist Children's Homes.

We were houseparents at a Presbyterian Children's Home in Hugo, OK until Anna was born in '94. Then we went down to Southwestern for seminary, and Doug worked for Buckner Children's Homes there. He worked in Residential Treatment and lockdown, then with juvenile delinquents in Oak Cliff/South Dallas, and finally started a new After-school program in Royal Haven.
We also were planting an apartment church and had a food/clothing/benevolence dimension to that ministry as well.
We ended up leaving Seminary in May of'98, before Doug finished, because OBHC asked him to come back and create their "Advocates for Children" program. We lived on the OKC campus, but Doug worked with all the campuses. I also worked with advocacy and development. It was a great setup for me, because I totally worked around my own kid's schedule so I could be home with them, too.
We really love children's home ministry, and still have such a heart for it. To be honest, sometimes I get really homesick for my OBHC family. They are a special group of people.
