Question from the Ranch:
No on can answer it here, in fact they think it is trivial. But it is questions like this that separate genius from not-so-genius - let's see what CMU brains do with it.

Let's say we take a RV from the ranch (were talking 40' conversion bus here) outfit it with hyper-light drive just like the one from Spaceballs the movie. It is also outfitted with an improbability drive, but it is down for maintenance. Now, let's say that it is in space, I’m driving, and you are standing in space (in s space suit of course). The RV is traveling to you at the speed of light. You are standing right in front of it - as in, the RV is on a collision course with your body. I don’t see you because I’m on autopilot in the back of the bus singing classic David Bowie hits, particularly Space Oddity. Now also assume the headlights are on, in fact the fog lights are on too.

Question - do you see the headlights before the RV hits you?

people from oklahoma are weird.

my mom is from ponca city and as a kid i used to go see my dad's mom in enid all the time. i used to love trips to enid. i mean it, i'm not being "sarcastic joe" on that. i really loved the road trip- once we crossed into oklahoma and got out of arkansas' world-o-pine.

Art--

Doug grew up in Edmond. We have lived in Hugo and Oklahoma City.

Our Minister of Education, Robin Palesano (aka Gilligan) is from Clinton. He's a blast. He is the oldest David Crowder groupie I know. I think Crowder finally had to get a restraining order on him.

not-so-genius--

Well, your name says it all. It's probably the result of smoking one too many Cuban cigars.

Jason--

Good to know you haven't forgotten your roots.

Joe--

We'll accept you as a token Okie, since you do actually know what Big XII football is. But you'll have to convert to the crimson and cream.

To all--

I'm off to Chambersburg, PA to worship God with a whole bunch of college students!!! So I'm signing off until Sunday night.

unless spurrier finds himself there, somehow.

then i'll switch to someone else.

but it won't be the sooners.

it'll be uh... between the national champions and the aggies of texas.

until then... southern miss and auburn... all the way.

Jason,

Sorry!!! It was me. I signed in as anonymous on my own site. I was running out the door to the retreat and trying to post really fast.

Robin is our Education Minister at Southern Hills, OKC. That's our home/sending church. The two guys in the picture go to Southern Hills, too.

Yes, Robin is crazy as a loon. I really love being around him. And he is ALWAYS smiling. (don't you think he looks a little like Gilligan, if you put a bucket hat on his head?)

Great to see an Oklahoma connection Kiki. When were you a member of Southern Hills?

Jason--

Jordan was in our college group at SHBC. She is a sweetheart. And beautiful!!!

Rick--

We were members of SHBC from 1998 until coming here in 2004. Both of our kids were baptized there. SHBC has been really good to us, and in fact, our official membership is still there.

We got to be there under both Jerry Fielder and Doug Melton. Bro. Jerry's Mom, Irene Roop, was my mentor. (What an amazing, godly woman!!!)

Pastor Doug is just great, too. We have a lot of respect for him, both as a pastor and a friend. He really is just a big kid, though, and thinks it is funny to get me rattled. I could tell you stories. : )

We taught in the college department at Southern Hills. Chris Haynes taught us most of what we know about campus ministry. The reason we considered PA in the first place was because Chris was approached at Glorieta about serving on the State level in PA. He asked us to pray about going with him if he took the job.

Well, to make a long story short, we both flew up to PA, Chris felt like God told him to stay in OKC. But we felt the call to go to PA.

To be honest, that has been one of the hardest parts of being up here. We really, really miss Chris and Val and the core people (like Clay!!!) who were our best friends and support at SHBC. But they flew up here and helped us out at the beginning of the school year, and Clay came last year as well. (We love you guys!!!)
